    A gilded ceiling, marble floors, and oversized botanical canvases set the tone in the lobby of this large, upscale hotel inside Auckland's SkyCity entertainment complex. West-facing rooms catch harbor bridge sunsets and the occasional bungee jumper mid-leap from the Sky Tower next door. Six restaurants sit under the same roof, including Cassia and Metita, two names worth seeking out on their own. The theatre district is a five-minute walk.
