    A Book Lounge stocked with four thousand titles hand-picked by Karl Lagerfeld himself tells you everything about this hotel's tone. The only property designed entirely by the late fashion icon, it layers chinoiserie and Western art deco through 271 rooms where even the headboards quote Ming Dynasty imagery. The spa is suitably lavish, and Mesa by José Avillez handles dinner. Forbes Five Star and Michelin two Keys.
