    The gardens alone could justify the address, sitting just outside Valletta's UNESCO-listed gates with an infinity pool glittering beyond them. This grand colonial-era hotel carries its art deco bones well through 132 rooms dressed in Mediterranean blues and pinks. A spa with a salt room, an onsite vegetable garden feeding the restaurant, and a terrace bar pouring local Maltese wine round out what is, by any measure, a full-stay proposition. It holds a Forbes Four Star.
