Each room at this small Clerkenwell hotel is named for a figure from the neighborhood's lawless past, criminals and prostitutes included, which gives you some sense of its personality. Victorian plumbing, wood paneling, and antique furniture throughout, with modern concessions kept to the bare minimum. No restaurant, but Clerkenwell's dining scene is right outside the door. Pete Doherty was arrested nearby, should that add to the romance.
