    The pixelated cutaway spiraling up the King Power Mahanakhon tower is hard to miss from anywhere in Bangkok, and The Standard occupies its lower floors with 155 rooms designed by Hayon Studio in a style that reads as genuinely cosmopolitan. Rooms are stylish without tipping into excess, because the extravagance is clearly being saved for the rooftop: a Mexican bar and restaurant sits on the 76th floor, which is a commitment to a theme.
