The old Camden Town Hall Annexe sat derelict long enough to complete the full cycle from eyesore to cherished relic before The Standard swept in and turned it into a hotel. The brutalist shell gets saturated color and space-age curves inside, with rooms that recall the utopian optimism of Seventies modernism without leaning on mid-century clichés. A rooftop bar, a cocktail-and-DJ room, and a Mexican restaurant round out the King's Cross postcode nicely.
