An auberge tucked at the foot of Mt. Wakakusa, where the suites are each designed around one of the five natural elements, fire, water, earth, wind, and wood. The founders came up through kitchens, so the food is as considered as the rooms, with wood-flame cooking and menu credits pointing back to specific producers and regions. Nara Park sits just outside the windows. It holds a Michelin star and a Michelin Selected Hotels nod.
Two honors, in evidence:
The record strongest first
- Michelin Guide 1 Star
- Michelin Guide Selected Hotels
