    The lakeside setting at this upscale hotel restaurant in Lochau does a lot of the heavy lifting, and then the food shows up and pulls its own weight. Contemporary regional cooking with serious technique, a terrace right over Lake Constance, and a separate bar built on stilts over the water for when you want snacks and a drink with your feet practically dangling in the lake. Couples and weekend escapists, mostly dressed like they made an effort.
