An L-shaped cypress wood bar in a quiet corner of downtown Redwood City, with the chef's knife work on full display throughout a two-and-a-half-hour Edomae-style omakase. The meal moves through small plates before reaching the nigiri, and the sourcing leans seasonal and obscure enough that hairy crab and Japanese halfbeak appear without apology. Dinner offers a premium tier for rarer finds; lunch runs a shorter version for the sensible.
