The bread at this Fruitvale bánh mì shop is the whole argument: crackly crust, pillowy interior, just enough chew. Two dozen sandwiches fill the menu at prices that haven't moved in years, a minor miracle in the Bay Area. The pork meatball and egg is the one regulars point to, peppery and rich. Lines stretch out the door most days, but the staff moves them fast enough that you'll barely notice.
