    A pre-colonial shophouse facade sits behind protective glass in the middle of Kuala Lumpur's most relentlessly commercial neighborhood, which tells you exactly what this small hotel is doing. Deep-red curved hallways, exposed brick ceilings, and charcoal terrazzo bathrooms replaced the family-run original after new owners restored it. The Michelin Guide has it among its Selected Hotels. Shopping malls and the rest of Bukit Bintang are, of course, everywhere you look.
