Directly across from the Templo de Santo Domingo, Alejandro Ruiz's two-story restaurant has been cooking Oaxacan food with international polish for long enough that the neighborhood considers it furniture. The rooftop patio is where you want to be: servers make salsa tableside, cocktail shakers rattle as the church bells compete, and the kitchen sends out plates that clearly took a moment to consider how they'd look.
