A pint-sized Venezuelan cafe on Melrose that grew out of a popular dinner party pop-up, Chainsaw serves arepas, coffee drinks, and pie from a counter you can count the seats at. The menu shifts often, but the passionfruit-lime icebox pie with its bracingly tart filling keeps showing up for good reason. Sidewalk seating, daytime hours, and a chef who might pivot to a fried snapper plate or a potato-stick-topped hot dog any given week.
