A ski-slope chalet at 2,100 metres with a straight-on view of the Matterhorn, reached by a 20-minute walk from the Sunnegga funicular through the village of Findeln. Inside, the wood-heavy alpine interior does exactly what it promises, and the terrace tables go fast for obvious reasons. The cooking is rooted in the Valais, leaning on regional cheeses, dried meats, and mountain produce. Dress warm enough for the walk up; dress however you want once you arrive.
