    A 19th-century palace shell with a modern glass tower dropped inside it like a ship in a bottle, the Claris is a grand hotel in the Eixample that doubles as an art collection. Pre-Columbian pieces fill the ground floor, Egyptian carvings and Turkish kilims turn up in the rooms, and a Roman mosaic greets you at reception. Rooftop pool, panoramic terrace, polished hardwood floors throughout, and not a beige carpet in sight.
