The glass-roofed bar and a brasserie developed under Paul Bocuse's guidance are easy to linger in, but the rooms are the real argument here: many look directly onto the Louvre, and the hotel is shockingly quiet for a building planted in the loudest corner of Paris. The Haussmannian bones got a contemporary interior that reads light and modern rather than stuffy, which is harder to pull off than it sounds.
