1. Grand old hotel that's been around forever, Hotel Sacher is the kind of place where the red velvet isn't ironic and nobody apologizes for it. The lobby feels like belle époque Vienna never really ended, which is either charming or a lot depending on your mood. Guests tend to be the quietly wealthy type who prefer discretion to spectacle. The Sachertorte alone has a cult following, and the service is genuinely warm rather than stiff.
