Kashiwaya Osaka Kitashinchi
Japanese
A small window in the counter lets you watch the flames rise on days the chef cooks with straw, the fire safely behind heat-resistant glass so the smoke stays on his side. This is the Kitashinchi outpost of the venerable Kashiwaya, serving kaiseki at the counter with the full ceremony of a ryotei. The knife work alone draws eyes. One Michelin star.
