A converted Victorian warehouse in Clerkenwell, the creative district wedged between the City and Shoreditch, cooled by water drawn from a largely forgotten aquifer beneath London rather than conventional air-conditioning. It's a boutique hotel where the ground floor opens into a restaurant and bar that spill across several rooms and a summer terrace facing St. John's Square. Upstairs, the rooms run white and bright, softened by Penguin paperbacks and a few pieces of antique furniture.
