A former garage in South Slope, white painted brick, the big door rolled up so inside and outside blur into one easy afternoon. Mother is a bakery and wine cafe where the sourdough comes from a chef whose pandemic hobby became a full-blown obsession, and the wine list is in equally serious hands. Loaves to take home, quiche and sandwiches to eat there, and a dinner menu that drifts toward crudo and seared prawns. It holds a Michelin Bib Gourmand.
