Latticework and white plaster walls give this small sushi restaurant the feel of a traditional machiya townhouse. The building sits on what was once the main hall of Gangoji Temple, which is either atmospheric or a lot of pressure depending on your perspective. Two sisters run the room, one behind the fish and one on the floor, moving in a quiet sync that makes the whole evening feel unhurried.
