LA PIE
French
A French bistro in Nara named for the magpie, a bird considered a bringer of happiness, which also happens to be what Kasasagi-cho, the neighborhood it sits in, literally means. The chef trained in Montpellier and came home to recreate the unhurried rhythm of a Paris bistro, bouillabaisse and all. It's the kind of place that makes you wonder why every city doesn't have one tucked into a quiet residential street.
