    The building alone stops traffic, a Renaissance landmark covered in carved grimacing faces on one of Colmar's prettiest streets. Inside, the dining room strips all that drama away and goes minimalist, which turns out to suit the tasting menu perfectly. The kitchen holds a Michelin star and works squarely in Alsatian terroir, letting the region's ingredients do the talking with real precision and control.
