You ring a bell to get in, which sets the tone. Once past the dark entry corridor, the room opens into old stone vaults softened by contemporary lines and low light. Sens is a tasting-menu restaurant where the chef runs a multi-course surprise format, seasonal and locally sourced, with a vegetarian path available. The cooking leans creative and precise without announcing itself too loudly, which the neighbourhood, tucked behind the River Maine, seems to encourage.
