  1. The snails are always on the menu, served in-shell with garlic confit and cashew miso butter, which tells you everything about this natural wine bar's sense of humor and ambition at once. The chef came up through serious kitchens, and the small plates land with a precision that the unfussy Shattuck Ave room does nothing to announce. The wine list runs deep on natural bottles, locals fill the parklet most nights, and the Michelin Guide gave it a Bib Gourmand.

Eat Score

The score comes from the awards it's won, weighted by who gave them: a Michelin star outweighs a listicle. When you sort by what's nearby, distance changes the order, never the score.

          Best Place Score

The Best Place Score rates the area around a point, not any one place. It runs on the scored places nearby: more good stuff within reach, higher score. If it looks low, we probably haven't found enough critics out here yet.
