    A 29-story luxury hotel on the grounds of a former royal palace, which does give the lobby small talk a certain lift. The Athenee sits on Bangkok's Wireless Road, with embassies and Central Embassy mall as neighbors and the BTS a short walk away. Rooms run to opulent furnishings that nod to Thai royal heritage, balanced against every modern convenience. The kind of address that makes a business trip feel like it was someone else's idea.
