The Beans On Fire is a two-level coffee shop in Montmartre that opens at 8am, which in Paris counts as an act of defiance. The cappuccinos and flat whites are the draw, with pastries as backup. Grab the window seat and watch tourists photograph the corner mini mart from Amélie, or head to the basement, where the wifi is and the sightseeing isn't. It's also a reasonable place to recover from the climb to Sacré-Coeur.
