    The red brick and terracotta facade has been Grade II-listed since the railway barons threw civic soirées here, and the renovation kept the cornicing intact while adding brass bedside lighting and burgundy rugs to the 125 rooms. This is a proper full-service hotel in central Leeds, with a bar, ballroom, and nine event rooms. Yorkshire Tea in the kettle is a small but telling sign of where the independent ownership puts its attention.
