    Vintage telephones on the nightstands signal what kind of hotel Verno House is: one that uses nostalgia as texture rather than theme. Rooms run notably larger than Budapest's usual city-center offerings, and the whole place leans warm and lived-in despite the obvious care taken with the furnishings. A small spa with a jacuzzi, steam room, and sauna sits downstairs for when the city gets to be a bit much. It holds a Michelin Key.
