The best places to stay and do in Hyères, according to the experts: Le Fooding and the Michelin Guide have both weighed in, and their honors are what rank this list. Popolo comes out on top.
More Less
LILOU and Hôtel Le Provençal hold the next two places. Le Fooding shows up on more of this list than any other guide, with the Michelin Guide next.

Haussmannian facade in the thick of Hyères' old town, 37 rooms dressed by a Paris design studio in Art Deco geometry and Riviera-era rattan. The pool and terrace take their cues from the grand 19th-century villas down the road, while the lounge layers pine and limestone into something that feels more collected than decorated. The Michelin Guide has it selected, and Le Fooding lists it too, which tells you the locals aren't ignoring it either.

The hotel has been sitting on the port at Hyères long enough to have a cameo in Godard's Pierrot le fou, and the facade still looks the part. Inside is another story: 14 rooms, each handed to a different artist with an apparent brief of no restraint whatsoever. The roof terrace runs yoga by day and cocktails by night. The Michelin Guide has it on their selected hotels list, which feels like an admirably straight face.
