The best steakhouses in Miami, according to the experts: Condé Nast Traveler, Food & Wine, and Esquire have all weighed in, and their honors are what rank this list. Sunny’s Steakhouse comes out on top.

More Less

Daniel's Miami and Palm Beach Meats hold the next two places. Michelin Guide shows up on more of this list than any other guide, with Miami New Times close behind.

  1. Rank 1. Sunny’s Steakhouse

    Modern Steakhouse

Stone crab claws and bone marrow vinaigrette on a classic steakhouse menu is a pretty good summary of what Little River is doing right now. Sunny's leans into the old-meets-new Florida aesthetic hard, and the room hums with a crowd that dressed for it. The steaks come in shareable or individual cuts, the sides include russet potatoes fried in chicken schmaltz, and the martini program landed on Esquire's national list. The New York Times put it on their Restaurant List for 2025.

  2. Rank 2. Daniel's Miami

    Modern Steakhouse

Coral Gables has a new-school steakhouse that runs on locally raised beef and Australian Wagyu, dry-aged and handled with the kind of seriousness that usually comes with a longer track record. The room keeps things understated, natural materials and soft light instead of the old dark-wood-and-excess formula. It landed at number 40 on the World's Best Steak Restaurants list, which is a statement for a place still finding its footing.

  3. Half gourmet butcher shop, half casual wagyu restaurant, this West Palm spot earns a Michelin Bib Gourmand by applying one ingredient to almost every item on the menu, including the Nutella brownie. Japanese, Australian, and American wagyu shows up in a breakfast sandwich, a burger, lumpia, and a burrito with tots. The room is wood tables and caramel leather, relaxed enough that the "Nice to Meat You" sign lands without embarrassment.

  4. Dark wood, banquette seating, and lighting low enough that everyone looks like they're closing a deal. Daniel's is a steakhouse on Federal Highway that plays the genre completely straight, which turns out to be exactly what Fort Lauderdale wanted. The menu is built for sharing, so bring people. A Floridian spin on oysters Rockefeller gets things moving, the steaks are cooked with care, and the corn pudding is not optional.

  5. A square bar anchors the center of the room, floor-to-ceiling glass wine cellar on one side and personalized wine lockers tucked throughout, which tells you roughly what you're in for. This is a proper steakhouse in Coral Gables, the kind that takes the Caesar salad as seriously as the ribeye. The menu roams wider than expected, from croquettes to hamachi crudo, before landing on a deep cut of steaks made entirely in-house.

  6. Rank 5. Nicholson Muir

    Steakhouse

A gourmet butcher shop and steakhouse tucked into a beachy cottage is not the obvious pairing, but here we are. The chef runs a tight, meat-forward room where ribeyes go over a wood-fire grill and a multicourse omakase hands the whole evening over to the kitchen. The Michelin Guide has taken notice. Finish with the warm cookies and crème anglaise, which lands somewhere between dessert and a dare.

  7. Rank 5. Ossobuco

    Steakhouse

The wood-burning grill anchoring the dining room doubles as the whole design statement at this Wynwood open-fire steakhouse, where dry-aged cuts and smoked lamb chops share the menu with lighter starters that hold their own. The glossy tables and spotlight-lit bar draw a crowd that stays for the cocktail list and the weekend DJ. Dress like you planned to be here.

The score comes from the awards it's won, weighted by who gave them: a Michelin star outweighs a listicle. When you sort by what's nearby, distance changes the order, never the score.

      Stay Score

Four fifths of the score is the awards it's won, weighted by who gave them: a Michelin Key outweighs a listicle. The last fifth is where it is: the ranked places to eat and things to do around it, and how safe the country is. When you sort by what's nearby, distance from you changes the order, never the score.

          Best Place Score

The Best Place Score rates the area around a point, not any one place. The places are 60% of it: the best of what's within reach, weighed by distance. The setting is the other 40%: how life goes in that country (how people rate their own lives, how long and how well they live, how safe they are) and what it's like right there (the air, and the weather). If the score looks low, we probably haven't found enough critics out here yet.
