The Best Seafood in Miami, by the Record

The best seafood in Miami, by the professional record: Michelin Guide, Eater, and Miami New Times have all weighed in, and their honors are what rank this list. Joe's Stone Crab comes out on top.

Mignonette and Estiatorio Milos hold the next two places. Miami New Times shows up on more of this list than any other guide, with Michelin Guide next.

  1. Stone crab claws, boiled and chilled, served with a mustard sauce that people have been arguing about since Miami Beach was accessible only by ferry. Joe's is an old-school institution, a crab shop so embedded in the city's identity that celebrities, politicians, and regulars all wait in the same line. The dedicated parking lot across the street tells you everything about how long that wait can get. Save room for the key lime pie.

  2. Rank 2. Mignonette

    Modern Seafood

  3. Rank 3. Estiatorio Milos

    Greek Seafood

Some regulars skip the menu entirely and head straight to the back, where the day's fish and crustaceans are laid out on packed ice like a very glamorous geology exhibit. This is a high-end Greek seafood restaurant on South Beach, the kind where whole grilled fish and lobster anchor the table and the room skews toward people who own boats. Fresh seafood arrives multiple times a week, and the kitchen largely gets out of its own way.

  4. A glass-fronted restaurant in Coconut Grove that shares its building with a dinner concept downstairs, Krüs Kitchen operates upstairs with its own kitchen, a retail corner, and a sunny room that feels more market than dining room. The menu chases small-farm produce and organic wines, with seafood showing up often. A percentage of every sale goes to the team's nonprofit, so the prawns are doing community service.

  5. Rank 6. Atardi

    Beachfront Seafood

  6. Rank 8. The River Oyster Bar

    Modern Seafood

The score comes from the awards it's won, weighted by who gave them: a Michelin star outweighs a listicle. When you sort by what's nearby, distance changes the order, never the score.

          Best Place Score

The Best Place Score rates the area around a point, not any one place. It runs on the scored places nearby: more good stuff within reach, higher score. If it looks low, we probably haven't found enough critics out here yet.
