Art deco bones meet a curated collection of Ottoman and contemporary art throughout this luxury hotel in Nişantaşı, Istanbul's high-fashion quarter. The library alone, stocked with volumes on design and Ottoman history, suggests a place that takes its interiors seriously. Commissioned works and pieces from the Demsa Collection hang in corridors and guest rooms alike. It holds a Forbes Four Star rating, and the butler service runs the way the brand's New York heritage always promised it would.

The bones here are 1920s Milanese art deco, and the Park Hyatt has leaned into them rather than buried them in a renovation. This Forbes Four Star hotel sits in Nişantaşı, Istanbul's most gilded neighborhood, where the patisseries charge accordingly and the boutiques don't post prices. What was once a private apartment block for the city's elite is now sleek and minimal inside the ornate shell, which is either a tension or a conversation, depending on your taste in lobbies.

The first twelve floors of Suzer Plaza belong to this Ritz-Carlton, a luxury hotel perched above the Bosphorus in the thick of the city. The renovation a few years back gave the interiors a contemporary frame with Ottoman accents, so the rooms feel rooted somewhere specific rather than nowhere in particular. Forbes Four Star. The views do a lot of the talking, and the staff, apparently, lets them.

Rank 4. Foxy Nişantaşı
Contemporary Turkish
The name comes from the musky note of the Concord grape, which tells you something about how seriously this casual Nişantaşı wine bar and kitchen takes the small details. The team behind the Michelin-starred Neolokal runs this looser, more relaxed offshoot, pairing an all-Turkish wine list, natural to classic, with a modern spin on local food. The house cat does a slow circuit of the room and nobody seems bothered.

A cosy Turkish restaurant tucked into the Nişantaşı streets, where Anatolian home cooking gets a Bib Gourmand nod without anyone making a fuss about it. The menu reads like a tour of the country's regional traditions, and the kitchen cooks with the kind of generosity that makes you order one more thing than you planned. A good mix of locals and visitors fills the room across the whole day, which tells you something.

Rank 4. Tatbak
Turkish
Stained-glass windows and marble finishings give this old-school Nişantaşı kebab spot a look that somehow feels both neighborhood canteen and faded drawing room. It's been around forever, and the regulars clearly never considered going anywhere else. The Gaziantep-style lahmacun, loaded with vegetables and parsley, and the lamb sausage and minced beef kebab are the ones everyone orders. The Michelin Guide awarded it a Bib Gourmand, which tracks with the prices.

Perched just above the noise of Taksim Square, with Gezi Park on one side and the Bosphorus shimmering on the other, this boutique hotel leans residential rather than minimalist-cool, leaning on wood, leather, and stone to keep things warm. Soundproofed windows and Aromatherapy Associates in the bath suggest someone thought carefully about comfort. An in-house restaurant, bar, and spa mean you can ignore Istanbul for longer than you probably should.

Tucked between Taksim Square and the Bosphorus, this boutique-leaning MGallery hotel wears its name honestly: public spaces are stacked with contemporary art and furniture that swings from Art Nouveau to now without apologizing for it. Rooms are calmer by comparison, with splashes of color and, in many cases, a window full of water. The rooftop restaurant's wraparound views take in most of Istanbul at once, which is a lot to process over breakfast.

A staircase lit by a digital art installation connects the ground-floor patisserie to an art gallery hosting exhibitions and acoustic concerts, which tells you a lot about this design hotel in Nisantasi, Istanbul's most fashion-forward neighborhood. Autoban studio fitted the rooms in earth tones with custom furniture and marble bathrooms. The rooftop serves Italian food with Bosphorus views, and a hammam and indoor pool sit downstairs in the spa.

The centerpiece of the lounge is a custom Autoban bookcase that makes the whole room feel like a reading nook, which tells you a lot about the vibe here. This 44-room boutique hotel in Nisantasi sits somewhere between high-design lodging and a very stylish pied-à-terre, with custom wooden furniture throughout and restaurants and cafés just outside. A spa and gym are available at its twin property a short walk away.

A Turkish fashion house turned its Nişantaşı address into a hotel, and the aesthetic confidence shows. Suites run to pale wood, marble, and soft neutrals, with full kitchens, walk-in wardrobes, and in-room steamers so you arrive at dinner looking like you packed correctly. Personal butlers handle unpacking; a concept store and patisserie handle the rest. Chanel and Prada are steps away, which tells you everything about the neighbors and the nightly rate.

Rank 12. BİZ İstanbul
Contemporary Turkish
The seventh floor of the Atatürk Cultural Centre, right on Taksim Square, puts this contemporary Turkish restaurant at a height where the terrace view across the city and the Bosphorus does a lot of the heavy lifting. Inside, it's elegant and modern with a proper bar. The menu takes traditional Turkish dishes through a contemporary lens, layering flavors in ways that make the food interesting without losing what made the original worth reworking.

Rank 12. Lokanta by Divan
Modern Turkish
A grand piano anchors the first room, and if you show up when someone is playing, the whole dining room shifts a little. Lokanta is the restaurant inside the old Divan Hotel near Taksim, and it carries the same formal, unhurried energy as the building around it. The menu is à la carte and modern Turkish, drawing on regional ingredients with enough ambition to feel like an occasion. Dress accordingly.

Rank 12. Maromi İstanbul
Sushi
Sitting inside the Divan hotel in Beyoğlu, Maromi is a sushi restaurant where the counter seats are the ones to ask for. The chef works close enough to watch each piece come together, octopus and pickled daikon settled into warm rice, salmon rolled in toasted sesame with a chilli kick. You can order à la carte or hand the decisions over entirely with the omakase. A Michelin Selected pick.

Rank 12. Nobu İstanbul
Modern Japanese
Nobu needs no introduction, and the Istanbul outpost earns its spot by leaning into the view: the terrace looks out over the Bosphorus toward the Asian shore, which is quite a thing to have behind your sushi. Inside, the room runs minimalist and polished, the kind of place where the lighting flatters everyone. The kitchen blends modern Japanese technique with South American inflection, and the omakase is the clearest way to understand what the team is up to.

The smoked salmon pizza on the menu is your first clue that Wolfgang Puck is running the kitchen. This rooftop restaurant sits atop the St. Regis in Nişantaşı, with terrace views over Istanbul that do most of the selling. The menu wanders freely through California, Italy, and Asia, sharing plates of duck spring rolls alongside modern sushi, held together by the kind of confidence that doesn't need to pick a lane.

Rank 12. St. Regis Brasserie
Turkish
The Bloody Mary here is made with raki, which tells you almost everything. This is the brasserie inside the St. Regis Nişantaşı, polished and unhurried, the kind of room where the menu wanders confidently from Turkish mezze to gyoza to Italian risotto without apologizing for it. The kebab with meatballs, grilled peppers, and a yogurt-butter sauce is the house signature, and portions land on the generous side of luxurious.

Rank 12. Topaz
Mediterranean Turkish
On the seventh floor of a Beyoğlu hotel, this rooftop restaurant trades on a panorama of Istanbul that makes it hard to focus on the menu, which would be a shame. The kitchen leans Mediterranean with a Turkish lean-back, braising and slow-cooking its way through bold flavors. A cocktail bar keeps things going after dinner for anyone unwilling to surrender the view just yet.
