Carefree has exactly one place on the list so far: CIVANA Wellness Resort and Spa, honored by Phoenix New Times.
-
The "Quiet Please" signs posted around the grounds tell you exactly what CIVANA is going for. This wellness resort in the Sonoran Desert outside Carefree runs a full calendar of classes, from aerial yoga and barre to guided meditation and cacao ceremonies, plus a spa and two restaurants leaning healthy. A day pass works if an overnight feels like too much commitment, though the drive alone starts doing some of the work.
