    A boutique hotel on the Keizersgracht that finally stops making you choose between canal-house atmosphere and modern design. The rooms pull off an unlikely trick, pairing lush materials against spare, austere forms in a way that reads as intentional rather than indecisive. Best rooms face the water. It's smallish, stylish, and part of the Curious Hotels micro-chain that seems to have figured out how to be contemporary without feeling like an airport lounge.
