Charbon Kunitoraya
Yakitori Japanese
The timber façade gives it away before you're through the door, but inside it's old zinc counter, metro tiling, mirrors, and wood panelling, as if a Parisian bistro and a Tokyo grill worked out a custody arrangement. This yakitori restaurant runs mostly on tasting menus of traditional dishes, with poulet de Bresse on the skewer a recurring reason to book ahead. Finish with the seasonal wagashi, the traditional Japanese pastries that tend to stop the table cold.
