    You'll spot the fridge of enormous Florentine steaks before you spot your table, which is Dal Toscano's way of setting expectations. It's a Tuscan trattoria near the Vatican, and the pasta turns out to be a serious sideline: silky fettuccine in a pale ragù, chewy pici with garlic the size of a fist. A kilo of bistecca and a carafe of Chianti are what the room is clearly built around.
