    The lobby's domed ceiling and Moorish tilework make it clear this hotel has been around forever, and the seafront position in George Town is the only one of its kind. Suites split between the old Heritage Wing and a newer annexe with an infinity pool facing the Andaman Sea. The on-site tailor is a quietly colonial touch that sums the place up neatly: somewhere that takes the grande dame reputation and leans into it, unhurried.
