A 17-room boutique hotel built inside a former Genoese-era elementary school near Galata Tower, with room numbers marked by abacuses and Genoese walls still visible in the stonework. The restaurant, Il Cortile, occupies the old school refectory and opens onto a shaded courtyard that feels improbably calm for this part of Istanbul. No gym, no spa, just considered service and one of the more quietly atmospheric stays the city has to offer. The Michelin Guide awarded it a Key.
