    The lobby's massive leather armchairs face the front door, which at Fasano means a steady procession of people who clearly want to be watched arriving. This is a boutique luxury hotel in Jardim Paulista, all English red brick and studied understatement, with a rooftop pool, a health club, and bathrooms scaled to impress. The celebrated Fasano restaurant and the jazz bar Baretto are both on the premises, which raises the floor considerably.
