Sitting inside a medieval fortress that once served as Oslo's prison, this brasserie and modern restaurant earns its terrace table reputation the honest way: burgers, moules frites, and a view across the water to Aker Brygge. Inside, pale wood and a genuinely cosy feel make the thick stone walls less forbidding. The menu shifts between casual brasserie fare and cleaner modern plates, all unfussy and neatly presented. The setting does most of the talking, but the kitchen keeps up.
