Melissa Perello's neighborhood restaurant on 17th Street is the kind of place that makes you resent everyone who lives within walking distance. The menu is hyper-seasonal and leans Californian-Mediterranean, served family style, with house-made pastas and roasted vegetables doing the heavy lifting instead of anything that comes out of a squeeze bottle. Reservations are genuinely hard to get, but the room is warm and the staff acts like they mean it.
