A 16-suite ryokan folded inside Grand Prince Hotel Takanawa, with each suite named for a flower from the surrounding garden. The name translates roughly as "floral-scented path," which turns out to be accurate. Former imperial residences still dot the grounds. Staff in kimono will talk you through Japanese art and history if you let them, and sake tastings and origami sessions fill the gaps. A Forbes Five Star, and about as immersive a traditional inn stay as Tokyo offers.
