    Steps from the Aiguille du Midi cable car, this modern hotel wears its chalet-shaped exterior as a nod to Chamonix tradition, then goes minimalist inside: oak floors, gray tweed, white sheets, private balconies with mountain views. The subterranean Nuxe Spa runs to an ice grotto, a Japanese whirlpool, and a hanging Egg chair, which is either very relaxing or an art installation. A serve-yourself popcorn bar rounds out the après-ski options for guests of all ages.
