1. Hotel de Russie

    A Forbes Five Star luxury hotel that Rome's visiting celebrities use as their discreet escape from, well, Rome. The plain facade on Via del Babuino is basically a decoy, because inside you get a gorgeous palazzo and one of the city's best garden terraces. It's the kind of place where guests don't need to announce themselves, and the staff already know that. Part of the Rocco Forte group, so expect the polish to be real.
