Hupo is a sleek, narrow Sichuan restaurant in Long Island City where the heat is dialed to "fragrant" rather than "punishing," which is either a relief or a disappointment depending on who you ask. The mapo tofu uses house-made cubes and the wontons come in a sweet-spicy sauce that earns its own regular fan base. A Michelin Bib Gourmand, and the kind of place you end up at twice in one week.
