    The taupe glass tower that once housed touring rock bands between Auckland gigs has had a thorough rethink. This five-star hotel now runs to Urbanaut craft beer in the minibar and mindfulness sessions on the TV, which feels about right for the distance traveled. The fourth-floor pool and gym face the city through floor-to-ceiling glass, and the restaurant downstairs draws on Japanese, Korean, and Polynesian techniques in roughly equal measure.
