    Game on the menu every day is the throughline at this family-run Madrid restaurant a short walk from the Retiro, which has been around forever and recently got a Nordic-inflected dining room to go with its refreshed bar. The cooking stays traditional, with an à la carte that leans old-school Spanish and set menus that draw regulars back reliably. The Michelin Guide awarded it a Bib Gourmand, which tracks with the honest-food, fair-price feel of the place.
