L'Ami Louis
French
L'Ami Louis is a tiny, dark-paneled bistro in the 3rd where the roast chicken for two is shown to you whole before it disappears to be carved. It returns in two acts, breast first, then the dark meat, a ten-minute intermission that the shoestring fries fill nicely. Bring a card with room on it, since even the green salad is priced like a minor investment. It's a Paris classic, and it knows it.

Roast chicken
“For a roast chicken for two that’s presented like a work of art—and with a €120 price tag—this time-worn bistro never fails to deliver.”
The Infatuation -
Green salad
“do order the green salad—its €36 price tag may seem like a joke, but the mustardy vinaigrette is the ideal foil for all that rich, fatty flavor.”
