    Perched above a former Olympic ski slope at the edge of Vanoise National Park, L'Apogée is a 53-room alpine hotel that knows its audience: serious skiers who still want fur throws and plaid when they come in from the cold. Rooms are designed to feel like overgrown mountain chalets, and the attached five-bedroom chalets plus a penthouse with its own roof terrace and hot tub skew even cozier.
